Although most of our hunters pursue other varmints, they come to North Central Ohio Varmint Express to pursue groundhogs. Groundhogs at long range are our primary target. Although we have taken them at distances out to 800 yards or more, we take most of our groundhogs between 300 to 600 yards.

The groundhog master of our group is Mike "Mad Dog" Groff. Mike runs North Central Ohio Varmint Express. Mike's weapon of choice for groundhogs is either a custom .240 Gibbs or his .270 Weatherby Magnum. Mike's longest kill on a groundhog is an impressive 805 yards.
